Cross+A is a freeware for Microsoft Windows OS, that allows the computer user to draw geometric figures. A cross is a simple geometrical figure made up of two intersecting curved lines, usually parallel to each other, lying on top of a flat surface. The user controls the cross by choosing a point on the cross which the vertices of the traced lines intersect. A typical application of Cross+A is a game of Tetris, in which a user has to make lines connecting every tile of an opponent's nine wall tiles, by matching up the pairs of horizontal and vertical segments between them.
Cross+A was created by Christopher Strickland as a free Windows program, offering basic drawing facilities to users with previous experience in using the Paint software. Since this was an early version of the Microsoft Office program, it was designed to be used directly in the Office application without having to learn about layout or texturing. It also offers an interface which is very similar to the popular Mac Paint. Although this software is primarily a drawing tool, it is also capable of producing text, logos and images. Cross+A were one of the first software programs to use the Mac compatible clipboard, allowing it to be used with Macs and PCs without having to switch between different applications.
